Marlon Simon, drummer, composer and educator, has been one of the most important exponents of Latin jazz for the past thirty years. He is the recipient of numerous grants and awards in jazz performance and education, and is a first-choice rhythmist for some of the great luminaries in Jazz, Latin Jazz and Afro-Caribbean music including Hilton Ruiz, Jerry González, Dave Valentin, Bobby Watson, Charles Fambrough and crossing boundaries to Aretha Franklin. It was in 1994 when Marlon decided to form his own band “The Nagual Spirits” to feature his talent as a performer and composer, defining a distinct approach to Latin Jazz. "On Different Paths" is set for release on January 26th, 2024!
